Wind

GridPower is currently under contract to develop large wind turbine power generation farms in northern Mexico. The company has executed contracts with landowners in the high wind velocity central mountain range areas of Baja California. The contracted scope of work includes project development, design (infrastructure and wind turbine sites), procurement, project management, construction, testing and commissioning.

Engineering

GridPower is different from most, being that we have founded our business on our many years of engineering and construction experience in the infrastructure industry and not on the basis of residential solar system sales and installations that many companies believe is the preface to building a renewable energy business. We believe in engineering a project to determine feasibility while many others develop a project solely on the price of materials, never understanding the full scope of work associated with implementing large utility-grade projects.

One of our first development activities is to install meteorological towers with anemometers and wind vanes to assess the wind on the proposed site. This process generally takes 1-3 years as the validation of the wind resource determines the viability of the project, the risk assessments of our financial partners, and the price of the energy. We collect and study wind speeds, wind direction, air density, and other data at multiple locations across each site.
